Abstract
The present study provides a succinct analysis, in terms of the musical dramaturgy, of two miniatures of the lyric theatre, Prima la Musica, poi le Parole by A. Salieri and Der Schauspieldirektor by W.A. Mozart. Special detail and emphasis is given to the similitude of the subjects, the structuring of the musical-dramatic discourse and the presence of the concepts of metacreation – opera about opera – and of theatre within theatre.
