Abstract
This article aims to highlight the expressive devices through which composer Sabin Păutza brings to light the deep and savoury poems crafted by soprano Adina Covaci, in a cycle of songs of great worth in the repertoire of the genre. The cantabile quality of the themes, the emphasis on certain lyrics given through the contour of the melodic arch, the piano accompaniment supporting the solo voice and the metric or rhythmic diversity are elements that reveal the creative act of a composer whose versatility is reflected in the contents of his music.
